Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab leader Pawan Kumar Tinu has strongly condemned the vandalism of the statue of Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar near Phillaur.
Tinu said that Gurpatwant Pannun is behind this incident. He alleged that Pannun is working at the behest of foreign forces, especially the Pakistani intelligence agency ISI. Living abroad, he orchestrates such cowardly acts in Punjab by luring hired individuals with small sums of money to carry out these heinous actions.
He added that Gurpatwant is neither a Sikh nor does he have any understanding of Sikhism. If he had knowledge of Sikh teachings, he would not indulge in such acts, as the philosophy of our Gurus revolves around the welfare of all humanity.
Tinu added that the people of Punjab will not be intimidated by such despicable actions by Gurpatwant Pannun. He pointed out that several powerful entities have tried to sow seeds of hatred among Punjabis, but they have never succeeded. Similarly, Pannun will also fail in his malicious intentions.
Challenging Gurpatwant Pannun, Tinu said, “If you have the courage, come out of your hiding and step into Punjab, and you will see how much Punjabis despise you.”
He further remarked that the Aam Aadmi Party respects its martyrs and intellectuals. This is why, under the AAP government, photographs of Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh and Baba Saheb Ambedkar have been placed in every government office. The Aam Aadmi Party will continue to uphold Baba Saheb Ambedkar’s vision and will ensure that people like Gurpatwant Pannun can never succeed in their anti-social attempts.
