Punjab Cabinet Minister and the state president of Aam Aadmi Party Aman Arora today asserted that with six SC Ministers in the state cabinet, first-time ever reservation in the AG office and hassle-free disbursement of SC scholarships, the AAP government is realizing the dream of Baba Saheb Dr. BR Ambedkar. Apart from this, the pictures of Dr. BR Ambedkar and Shaheed Bhagat Singh have been installed in all the state government offices.
Speaking as Chief Guest at an impressive district-level commemoration marking the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr. B.R. Ambedkar at Government Ranbir College, Aman Arora said that the Aam Aadmi Party led Punjab government under Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann’s leadership is resolute in transforming Dr. Ambedkar’s vision of an equitable and educated society into reality.
“Dr. Ambedkar stands as a monumental figure in our nation’s history-a distinguished jurist, economic visionary and dedicated social reformer whose constitutional foresight has established India as the world’s largest democracy,” the Cabinet Minister said after offering floral tributes to the great visionary.
Special Guest Sangrur MLA Narinder Kaur Bharaj lauded the government’s embrace of Ambedkar’s philosophical principles of “Educate, Agitate and Organize,” particularly through transformative educational reforms like the School of Eminence program that providing underprivileged students access to quality education. The commemorative function, attended by Deputy Commissioner Sandeep Rishi, featured insightful presentations from Prof. Gurvinder Singh on Dr. Ambedkar’s legacy and Prof. Gulshan Deep Daniya regarding Post-Matric Scholarship benefits.
Aman Arora also administered an anti-drug abuse oath to attendees. He also handed over certificate to beneficiaries of various welfare programs, including students under the Post-Matric Scholarship Scheme, recipients of the Ashirwad Scheme, villages under the Pradhan Mantri Adarsh Gram Yojana and inter-caste marriage couples. On this occasion, a comprehensive booklet detailing welfare schemes from the Department of Social Justice, Empowerment, and Minorities was also unveiled.
Prominent amongst others who were present on this occasion included ADC Amit Bambi, SP Navreet Singh Virk, Improvement Trust Chairman Pritam Singh Pitu, Punjab State SC Commission Member Gulzar Singh Bobby, Market Committee Chairman Avtar Singh Eelwal, SDM Charanjot Singh Walia alongside numerous political figures, administrative officers and students.
