The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) strongly opposed the decision of the Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB) to forcibly divert additional water to Haryana without the consent of the Punjab Government.
AAP leaders launched a campaign against the BJP and the Central Government, both through protests outside BBMB offices and on X with the hashtag “Punjab Da Paani Punjab Da Haq,” raising their voices against this injustice.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann strongly criticized the BJP and the central government, stating, “It is extremely unfortunate that the central government refuses to abandon its dirty tricks. Even during times of conflict, it is misusing the BBMB to plunder Punjab’s water.”
On his X account, Chief Minister Mann wrote, “Under the instructions of the BJP-led central government, the BBMB continues with its nefarious actions. While Punjab stands vigilant on its borders against Pakistan, the central government, through BBMB officials, is once again attempting to loot Punjab’s water. I will never allow this to happen and will use every ounce of strength to thwart this conspiracy.”
Harpal Singh Cheema “The BJP-led Central Government’s hatred towards Punjab has been exposed once again. The BJP has been trying to forcibly and deceitfully steal Punjab’s water through BBMB for several days. Punjab’s survival depends on this water, and we will not tolerate this theft at any cost.”
