A meeting of District Level Committee regarding sponsorship and foster care cases was organised under the chairmanship of Assistant Commissioner

Financial assistance will be given every month for the care and education of children of 46 more needy families of the district under the sponsorship and foster care scheme

Under the directions of Deputy Commissioner Viraj S. Tidke, a meeting of the District Level Committee regarding sponsorship and foster care scheme was organized under the chairmanship of Assistant Commissioner Gurmeet Kumar Bansal as per the guidelines of Mission Vatsalya. On this occasion, District Child Protection Officer Harpreet Kaur, Child Welfare Committee member Inam-ur-Rehman, Child Protection Officer Amandeep Kaur, Mubeen Quresi and officials of the concerned department were present.

On this occasion, District Child Protection Officer Harpreet Kaur shed light in detail on the sponsorship and foster care scheme and the cases of 46 newly arrived needy children. He said that before this, financial assistance is being provided to 180 needy children in the district. It is noteworthy that under this scheme, Rs. 4000 is given to the children per month.

He said that neglected, orphaned children who are living with other families, children of divorced women, children involved in child marriage and child labor, children whose parents are unable to raise/educate them due to any illness, children whose parents are in jail, children whose parents are physically and financially unable to raise them and as per the guidelines of Mission Vatsalya, their income does not exceed Rs. 96000 per annum for urban areas and Rs. 72000 per annum for rural areas. Children of such families are given Rs. 4000/- per month.

The Assistant Commissioner, while including children from 46 other needy families of the district in this scheme, said that the district administration is committed to helping the real needy as per the instructions of the government and it is being ensured that the welfare schemes of the government reach the real needy.
