SGPC Emergency Meeting: Bandi Singhs Release Discussed, Strict Decisions Taken

Under SGPC President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami’s chairmanship, today’s executive meeting made major and tough decisions. Discussions covered Bandi Singhs’ release, AI misuse, and warned action against current/former Jathedars allegedly damaging the institution’s image.

1. Action Against Jathedars

72-Hour Notice to Giani Raghbir Singh: Dhami said Head Granthi Giani Raghbir Singh (currently on leave) leveled baseless allegations against SGPC without evidence. Committee gave 72-hour ultimatum to provide proof; otherwise, action will follow.

Defamation Warning to Giani Harpreet Singh: Former Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh’s claims on land deals at Gurdwara Amb Sahib (Mohali) and Gurdwara Bhatta Sahib (Ropar) deemed groundless. Dhami warned of defamation suit if public apology not issued.

2. Bandi Singhs Release and Political Discrimination

Dhami accused BJP central and AAP Delhi governments of Sikh discrimination. Condemned rejection of Prof. Devinderpal Singh Bhullar’s release plea as human rights violation. Questioned silence of BJP Sikh leaders.
