Punjab SC Commission Chairman Targets Pratap Singh Bajwa: “No Mercy for Those Insulting the Poor”
Jalandhar: February 14, 2026
Punjab State Scheduled Caste (SC) Commission Chairman Jasvir Singh Garhi visited Jalandhar today, paying obeisance at Dera Sachkhand Ballan for Baba Niranjan Das Ji’s blessings. During media interaction, he took a firm stance on notices issued to Congress senior leader Pratap Singh Bajwa, warning no one is above the law.
Garhi stated the SC Commission ordered Bajwa to appear personally on February 16. He emphasized the commission stands like a rock with victims when powerful individuals insult or intimidate the poor and backward classes.
Without naming, Garhi launched a sharp attack: Leaders mocking poor people’s caste or appearance, issuing violent threats like “twisting necks in 3 minutes,” will face strict legal action. The commission’s mandate protects society’s most vulnerable, undeterred by conflicts.
Post-Dera visit, Garhi met CPF Union officials at Ambedkar Bhawan, discussing Constitution Day and SC rights issues extensively. On Valentine’s Day, he sought humanity and harmony blessings.
