Jalandhar Murder Mystery: From Friendship to Deadly Feud – How Khalsa College Politics Led to Lucky Oberai’s Death

Jalandhar, February 7, 2026
The complex story behind AAP leader Lucky Oberai’s murder in Model Town is slowly unfolding. Police investigation reveals that Lucky and prime suspect Joga Foldiwal once shared a deep friendship – celebrating birthdays together, cutting cakes, and constantly liking/sharing each other’s social media posts. Lucky also had excellent relations with Joga’s family, especially uncle Gurvinder Baba.

The Breaking Point: Khalsa College Power Struggle

Tensions emerged during Khalsa College politics and power demonstrations. Reports suggest Lucky sidelined Joga by appointing a youth named Lav as college head – someone Joga considered his subordinate. This decision split their paths permanently.

Joga switched allegiance to the Sonu Khattri gang, fled illegally to America, but orchestrated Lucky’s murder from there. On December 25, 2025, Lucky received a threatening social media post from Joga – exactly 44 days before his assassination outside Model Town Gurdwara.

Lucky’s Rising Political Threat

Joining AAP in 2022, Lucky built a strong base in Jalandhar Cantonment. His flashy lifestyle showcased through social media reels created jealousy and tension among rival factions.

Servant Under Scanner

A new twist: Lucky’s servant of two years is now missing post-murder. Police suspect his role after Lucky recently beat him over money embezzlement and drug habits, threatening dismissal. Investigators believe this grudge may have led him to aid the killers.

DGP Gaurav Yadav visited Jalandhar, confirming police have crucial leads and suspects will be arrested soon.
