Bloody Chaos in Balochistan: 145 Rebels and 17 Soldiers Killed in 40 Hours, Internet and Rail Services Shut Down
Quetta/Islamabad, February 2, 2026: Pakistan’s Balochistan province is gripped by severe violence, with nearly 200 lives lost in ongoing bloody clashes over the past two days. Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti confirmed that anti-terror operations in the last 40 hours killed 145 fighters from the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), while 17 Pakistani security personnel also died. The unrest erupted when rebels launched coordinated attacks on military bases, jails, and government offices.
Facing the crisis, authorities imposed strict curbs across the province. Internet services are fully suspended, rail traffic halted, and major roads blocked, crippling daily life. Markets in big cities like Quetta lie deserted, with locals living in fear. The army claims it foiled suicide attacks in Quetta, Gwadar, Mastung, and Pasni, eliminating large numbers of armed insurgents.
Pakistan’s military says rebels targeted civilians too, killing 18 innocents including women, children, and laborers. Once again, Pakistan blames India for the instability in Balochistan. India’s Foreign Ministry dismissed the allegations outright, accusing Pakistan of deflecting from its internal failures and human rights abuses there. India urged Pakistan to address Balochistan’s legitimate demands and end the atrocities instead of finger-pointing.
