Sikh Lawyer Navraj Rae Takes Oath as Judge in California County

Sacramento, California: 32-year-old Sikh lawyer Navraj Rae has sworn in as a temporary judge in Kern County. His appointment addresses the rising caseload, focusing on special hearings. Before Rae, 23 other lawyers have served as pro tem judges in the area.

Born in Los Angeles to Indian parents, Rae graduated from Stockdale High School and earned his law degree from the University of California, Davis.

Rae shared, “My appointment is not just a milestone for the Sikh and Punjabi community but a message for every resident of Kern County: This land offers growth opportunities to all, and nothing is impossible here.”
