PM Modi Flags Off Three Amrit Bharat Trains

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today launched four new rail services for South India during a special event in Kerala’s capital, Thiruvananthapuram. He waved the green flag from Putharikandam Maidan for three Amrit Bharat Express trains and one passenger train: Nagarcoil-Mangaluru, Thiruvananthapuram-Tambaram, and Thiruvananthapuram-Charlapalli Amrit Bharat Expresses, plus the Thrissur-Guruvayur passenger train.

These Amrit Bharat trains bridge the gap between regular mail/express and premium services, offering modern amenities, safety, and comfort at affordable fares. They will strengthen rail connectivity between Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana. The Thiruvananthapuram-Tambaram route eases Kerala-Tamil Nadu travel, Charlapalli boosts Telangana links, and Thrissur-Guruvayur benefits devotees visiting Guruvayur Temple.

PM Modi stated these services will accelerate Kerala’s overall development and boost tourism. He emphasized the Amrit Bharat scheme’s goal: making long-distance travel cheaper and convenient for millions, enhancing trade and local economies.
