MP Kang’s Letter to PM Modi: Demands Action Against Kapil Mishra for Fabricated Atishi Video Stirring Sikh Sentiments

Core Allegations
Mohali MP Malvinder Singh Kang from AAP has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, demanding strict action against BJP leader Kapil Mishra. Kang accuses Mishra of tampering with a video of Delhi Chief Minister Atishi to portray her as anti-Sikh, deeply hurting the religious sentiments of Sikhs worldwide.

Background of the Controversy
The dispute stems from a Delhi Assembly discussion on the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Guru Teg Bahadur. BJP leader Kapil Mishra allegedly edited Atishi’s speech video to falsely claim she made derogatory remarks about Sikh Gurus—something she never said in the original footage.

Forensic Evidence and Court Ruling
Kang’s letter cites two key pieces of evidence:

  • FSL Report (January 9, 2026): Mohali’s Forensic Science Laboratory confirmed the video was manipulated. The original shows Atishi made no disrespectful reference to “Guru” or “Gurus.”

  • Jalandhar Court Order (January 15, 2026): The court declared the video fake and directed social media platforms (X, Meta, Telegram) to immediately remove and block it.

MP Kang’s Key Demands
Kang urged the PM to take immediate action against Mishra for inciting religious fervor. He advised BJP to reconsider retaining such leaders and emphasized that this is a deliberate plot to spread hatred against Sikh history and Gurus—demanding justice for the community.

“The whole world knows BJP hates Sikhism and the Gurus. The global Sikh community will never forgive this,” Kang stated.
