New Delhi, December 3: Shiv Kumar Sharma has been honored with the NAB Sudha Verma Young Achiever Award 2025 for his significant contributions to legal awareness, inclusive cinema, and community empowerment. This recognition highlights his authentic portrayal in Rabb Di Awaaz—India’s first multi-inclusive and multi-accessible Hindi feature film—which has established a pathbreaking milestone toward inclusion and accessibility in Indian cinema.
The award was presented today by the National Association for the Blind (NAB) Delhi at the MEDHA 2025 Award Ceremony. The event was held on the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities at the India International Centre on Tuesday, December 2, 2025.
A passionate artist, actor, and director, Shiv’s work in cinema, including the award-winning film Rabb Di Awaaz, highlights critical social issues and disability rights on both national and international platforms.
The National Association for the Blind, Delhi, proudly announced the MEDHA 2025 awardees on the International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD). This annual event honors individuals and organizations making outstanding contributions to accessibility, empowerment, and disability inclusion in India.
The award ceremony, held at the India International Centre, was also attended by Shri Ojaswwee Sharma (National Award-winning film director), who directed Rabb Di Awaaz, in which Shiv Kumar Sharma played a lead role alongside Abhinav Sharma. Shridhar Gupta (Assistant Film Editor) was also present.
This recognition of Shiv Kumar Sharma marks another proud milestone for Rabb Di Awaaz, further establishing it as a vital voice in advocating for social change, equality, and the fair representation of persons with disabilities, making films accessible to all.
The NAB Sudha Verma Young Achiever Award has been instituted by Rashmi Kiran Mallick, Sumit Ranjan Verma, and Prashant Ranjan Verma in memory of their mother, the Late Smt. Sudha Verma. This annual award recognizes the extraordinary achievements of young visually impaired individuals in non-academic fields such as music, sports, arts, and adventure.
Rabb Di Awaaz has been produced by Pinaka MediaWorks, Rolling Frames Motion Pictures, and Mastershot Pictures. It has been released and distributed worldwide in all accessible formats by RFE TV Rolling Frames Entertainment. The film recently completed over 100 weeks in circulation, entering its 24th month and running towards a two-year milestone.
