81st Annual General Meeting of IEI Punjab & Chandigarh State Centre Held at Chandigarh

Chandigarh, November 17: The Institution of Engineers (India), Punjab and Chandigarh State Centre, successfully organized its 81st Annual General Meeting at Engineers Bhawan, Sector 19-A, Chandigarh. The event commenced at 10:30 AM with the registration of members, followed by the formal arrival of dignitaries.

Prof. (Dr.) Baljit Singh Khehra FIE, Chairman of the Centre, extended a warm welcome to all attendees and highlighted the Centre’s continuous efforts toward professional development, engineering excellence, and community outreach.

The Chief Guest for the event was Dr. M. S. Grewal, Former Principal, BBSBEC Fatehgarh Sahib, and Former Registrar, IKGPTU Jalandhar. Dr. Jaswinder Singh, Professor, Department of Computer Science & Engineering, Punjabi University Patiala, graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour.

The programme featured the prestigious 26th A.S. Sekhon Memorial Lecture, delivered by Dr. Puneet Mittal, Professor at Amity University, Mohali. The event also included the presentation of the 7th Late Smt. Jagdish Kaur Kamal Award, the 7th Er. Mundi Sukhvir Singh Award, and the AMIE Graduate Eminent Engineers Award, recognising outstanding contributions in various engineering domains.

In their addresses, both the Guest of Honour and Chief Guest appreciated the Centre’s initiatives and encouraged engineers to actively contribute to technological advancement and societal development.

The meeting concluded with the presentation of mementoes, a vote of thanks by Er. Karnail Singh FIE, Honorary Secretary, and a fellowship luncheon. A business session was held subsequently for Corporate Members.
