The ‘AAP’s’ Biggest Savings Initiative in Punjab! Free Electricity, Free Travel, and Now Ration to Every Home — The Mann Government’s Delivery of Prosperity for the Poor!
*Chandigarh, October 26, 2025*
A historic announcement for millions of families in Punjab! Home delivery of ration is set to begin very soon. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government, led by Bhagwant Mann, has given a new dimension to the state’s largest welfare scheme, ‘Atta-Dal’ (Flour-Pulse), by transforming it into a ‘Complete Kitchen Package’. This is not just a scheme, but a guarantee of direct relief and savings from the ‘AAP’ government for Punjab’s poor and middle class.
Chief Minister Mann, taking a major and pro-people decision, has announced the addition of several important items to the ration for existing beneficiaries. Soon, eligible families will receive this complete package for free, along with wheat, which includes: 2 kg Pulse, 2 kg Sugar, 1 kg Tea Leaves, 1 liter Mustard Oil, and 200 grams Turmeric. This ensures that families do not have to depend on the market to meet their basic kitchen needs. The scheme is being prepared for full implementation starting from April 2026.
The Mann government has also revolutionarily changed the process of ration distribution. From the New Year, home delivery of flour and wheat will begin for the poor. The scheme will cover 1.42 crore beneficiaries under the National Food Security Act, under which 72,500 metric tons of ration will be distributed every month. Beneficiaries will be relieved of the worry of standing in long queues for ration, which is proof of the AAP government’s ‘honest and transparent’ governance.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann emphasized, “Our goal is that no family in Punjab should struggle for basic necessities. The electricity bill became zero, travel for women became free, and now the worry about ration is also over! This is our guarantee that the public’s money is now being spent only on the public.”
Under the scheme, the ration package will be given to beneficiaries quarterly (four times a year) in a systematic manner—the first installment in April, the second in June, the third in October, and the last in December. Out of a total of 65 lakh families in Punjab, 40 lakh families will be eligible for this expanded scheme. Three dozen flour mills have also been identified for grinding the wheat to ensure quality and timely delivery. This reflects the ‘AAP’ government’s commitment to public service and economic management. While the government is spending ₹22,000 crores on 300 units of free electricity and ₹600 crores on free bus travel, this ‘Ration Revolution’ now proves that the Bhagwant Mann government truly stands with the common man. To secure and prosper Punjab’s future, choose the government that lightens the burden on your kitchen.
