Amid the devastation caused by floods in Punjab, the Congress Legislative Party has announced that all its MLAs will contribute one month’s salary towards relief efforts. The decision was taken unanimously, keeping in view the extensive damage caused by the disaster.

Earlier, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, his cabinet ministers, the Assembly Speaker, and all Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLAs had already pledged their one-month salary for the flood victims.

The AAP government said that their inspiration comes from the teachings of the Gurus, who guided them to serve those in need during testing times.

Along with this humanitarian initiative, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has also appealed to philanthropists and the general public to contribute generously towards relief measures. He urged people to donate essential items before September 2, including:

Ration and wheat flour bags
Pulses
Medicines
Drinking water
Fodder for cattle

This move highlights the solidarity of Punjab’s political parties, setting aside differences to serve the people during this crisis.
