Haryana’s Monsoon Session of the Vidhan Sabha has been extended till August 27, Energy, Transport and Labour Minister Anil Vij announced on Friday. Following a meeting of the Business Advisory Committee (BAC), it was decided that the Assembly proceedings will now continue from August 22 to 27.

Vij said the government is “fully prepared to answer every point” raised by the Opposition in the House. “Leaders of all parties were present in the BAC meeting, and it was collectively decided to extend the session by one more day,” he told reporters.

Taking a swipe at the Congress over the absence of the Leader of the Opposition, Vij remarked, “This is due to the Congress party’s inability to take decisions, the refusal of its members to accept any leader, and the lack of authority of any individual within the party.”

On a different note, responding to a query on public demand for better train connectivity, Vij said he had written to the Railway Minister regarding the need for a daily passenger link between Ambala Cantt. and Chandigarh. “The Railway Minister has replied that a feasibility check will be carried out for this proposal,” he added.
