The flood situation in swollen Beas river continued to grim for past many days today as water level has further increased to 1.19 lakh cusec causing damage to standing paddy crops sown on several thousand of acres of agriculture land.

Punjab water resources Minister Barinder Goyal, Rajya Sabha member Sant Balbir Singh Seechewal,Deputy Commissioner Amit Panchal and senior Superientendent of police Gaurav Yadav today visited Worst affected village Baupur in a motorboat and met marooned farmers and expressed their sympathies with them for bravely facing the fury of floods and assured all possible help by state government.

Meanwhile pong dam today released 65 thousand of cusec of water in swollen Beas river .
