Punjab Cabinet Minister Sanjeev Arora devoted two full days, August 17 and 18, to listening to the grievances of residents at Circuit House, Ludhiana. The special public interaction sessions, held daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., drew hundreds of people from across the city, reflecting the wide expectations and faith of citizens in the initiative.
Individuals and delegations representing various sections of society—including local social leaders, social organizations, and association representatives—met the minister to raise their concerns. The majority of issues presented pertained to the functioning of the Municipal Corporation, police administration, revenue department, and Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL). Citizens highlighted challenges such as inadequate civic amenities, pending revenue matters, law-and-order concerns, and electricity-related problems.
To ensure immediate and effective resolution, senior officials from different departments were present during the sessions. Among them were ADC Amarjit Bains and Joint Municipal Commissioner Vineet Kumar. ADCP Vaibhav Sehgal, attended on the directions of Commissioner of Police Ludhiana, Swapan Sharma. Their presence ensured that grievances were promptly noted and follow-up measures initiated without delay.
Minister Arora gave each visitor ample time to explain their concerns, underlining his commitment to transparency and responsive governance. He directed the concerned officers to take swift and result-oriented action on the issues raised, stressing that redressal of public grievances should be treated as a top priority.
Speaking on the occasion, Arora stated that such interactive sessions provide an important bridge between the government and citizens. He emphasised that resolving people’s day-to-day problems strengthens their trust in governance and helps ensure smoother implementation of government policies at the grassroots level.
The two-day exercise, widely appreciated by the attendees, reinforced the government’s resolve to deliver citizen-centric administration. Residents expressed satisfaction at being heard directly by the minister and welcomed the prompt instructions given to the officials concerned.
With such initiatives, Ludhiana has set a positive example of participative governance, bringing administration closer to the people and addressing civic concerns with urgency and accountability.
