Three killed in road accident near village Mand on Kapurthala-Jalandhar road

Kapurthala, August 19

Three persons all occupants of Chhota Hathi were killed when a speeding bus collided with chhota Hathi near village Mand on Kapurthala-Jalandhar main road this morning.

Police identified the deceased as Ishwar Lal , Mukesh and driver Rakesh all resident of Bihar now residing in Kapurthala.

Police said all the deceased were going to Jalandhar in the four wheeler to bring vegetables and fruits from Jalandhar whole sale market to sell it in Kapurthala when a speeding bus coming from wrong side collided with the four wheeler resulting in instant death of all the occupants of four wheeler.

On hearing cries ,the residents and relatives of deceased lodged a strong protest by blocking the vehicular traffic on main Kapurthala-Jalandhar for few hours.

The agitating residents were demanding stern action again the bus driver who fled away after accident.

The blockade was lifted on the assurance of police to register a case against bus driver.

The bodies were sent to civil hospital for post-mortem.

Police has registered a case.
