MP Gurjeet Singh Aujla reached Golden Temple today to pay obeisance where he met SGPC members. He said that the Central Government and State Government should jointly increase security here and Amritsar should be declared a no war zone.
MP Gurjeet Singh Aujla today met SGPC’s Sectary Pratap Singh in relation to the emails threatening to blow up the Golden Temple with RDX. During this time, former MLA Jugal Kishore Sharma was present with him. Before this, he bowed his head in the Guru Ghar and prayed for the welfare of all. He said that of course some mischievous elements want to create an atmosphere of fear but coming here today, he is very relieved to see how much faith people have in their Guru Sahib. Even today there was a huge crowd of Sangat and people were standing in lines for darshan.
After this, while giving information after meeting the SGPC members, he said that although today the police has caught the criminals who threatened, but it is very important to find a permanent solution to this. He said that SGPC is working very well inside Sri Darbar Sahib, but there should be strong security arrangements in the surrounding areas as well.
He said that technology has advanced a lot and along with it the methods of criminals have also increased, so new methods of security will also have to be adopted. He said that this is for the good of humanity. He said that he has asked both the state and central governments to work together because the equipment on surveillance basis is worth crores. Very high-tech scanners have come that everything of a person can be inspected and secondly the security should be such that the Sangat also does not have any problem and everything runs smoothly. He said that this is the issue of the state government and the Home Ministry and if advice is taken from them, they are always present.
