Following the directives of Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Jain, a special training was imparted to Sarpanches, Nambardars and Municipal Councillors for online verification of citizen applications under e-services.
Giving details in this regard, Additional Deputy Commissioner Rohit Gupta said now the sarpanches, numberdars and councillors would verify the citizen applications through online system which further streamline the process to deliver services in seamless manner. The Punjab Government has initiated this step to minimise the hassle being faced by the people to get such application verified.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner said that the routine applications like Residence Certificate, Caste (SC, BC/OBC) Certificates, Income Certificate, EWS Certificate and Old Age Pension Certificate will be verified online. He said Sarpanch and Nambardar will certify the documents for rural areas while councillors will check the urban area documents. Under this new process, the Patwaris will send online applications to Sarpanch, Nambardar or Councillors for verification thus enabling them to verify applications of a person living in their village/ward online through e-Seva Portal/WhatsApp Chatbot No: 9855501076. He said that this process will not only save the time of the representatives but also facilitate citizen to get their work done in minimal time. He said that through online verification of certificates, people will be able to get the certificates sitting at home.
