Punjab to provide moong, sorghum and bajra seeds on subsidy under National Food Security Mission Pulses and Millets: Dr. Kulwant Singh

Faridkot June 25: The Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare will provide moong, sorghum and bajra seeds supplied by the nodal agency Panseed declared by the Punjab Government under the National Food Security Mission Pulses and Millets during Kharif 2025-26.

Giving information in this regard, Dr. Kulwant Singh Chief Agriculture Officer said that the Punjab government will provide certified seeds to farmers with Rs. 5000/- per quintal assistance for moong seeds, Rs. 3000/- per quintal assistance for jowar and bajra seeds. These seeds will be given to the farmer heroes at the time of purchase by reducing the assistance amount.

He said that farmers can submit their completed applications to the circle level, block level or district level offices of the Agriculture Department. He appealed to all the farmer heroes to take maximum advantage of the above scheme and under crop diversification, maximum area should be taken out of the paddy/basmati crop cycle and brought under other crops so that the water going deep underground can be saved.
