Jalandhar, June 16

Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal has extended heartfelt appreciation to Ayaan Mittal, a 16-year-old student of The Doon School and resident of Jalandhar, for his exemplary initiative ‘Khroma’, which is transforming lives of children with neurodiverse needs.

Giving more details, the Deputy Commissioner said through ‘Khroma’, Ayaan has creatively collaborated with the Soch Autism Society of Punjab to feature artwork by children with autism on school notebooks. All proceeds from sales directly support the society’s mission to empower and assist neurodiverse students, he noted.

Terming it a unique blend of creativity and compassion, Dr. Aggarwal highlighted Ayaan’s successful collaborations with institutions like Cambridge School, Jalandhar—where notebooks now feature artwork by students from the Special Education Needs (SEN) wing—and Masters’ Union College, where registers were specially designed to raise funds for the cause.

Ayaan has also used school events and exhibitions, such as The Doon School Founders’ Day, to raise awareness and encourage people to support inclusion by purchasing these notebooks. “His empathy and thoughtfulness stand out. He is not just raising funds, but building representation and inclusion in everyday life,” said the DC.

Praising Ayaan’s dedication, Dr. Aggarwal added, “He is a true role model, and we are proud to felicitate him for his outstanding contribution to social service.”
