AAP Minister Tarunpreet Singh Sondh tore into Congress leader Partap Singh Bajwa, lambasting his recent remarks on Akali Dal and calling out his political ambitions. Sondh stated that Bajwa’s attempts to mislead Punjab’s people will fail, as the state has already moved beyond Congress, Akali Dal, and BJP.
Sondh said, “Say whatever you want, Bajwa Sahib, but you will never become the Chief Minister of Punjab. Write it down. The people of Punjab are wise enough to see through you. They have already rejected all traditional parties and dynast politicians in 2022.”
Are Bajwa and Jakhar Joining ‘Khali Dal’?
Mocking Bajwa’s concern over Akali Dal’s miserable state, Sondh remarked, “First, Sunil Jakhar claimed Akali Dal is ‘Khali’ (hollow), and now Bajwa repeats it. Are the two of you planning to join Akali Dal or create a new version of it together? It seems neither Congress nor BJP has any direction in Punjab, and their leaders are just scrambling for relevance.”
Highlighting Congress’ lack of progress over decades, Sondh questioned Bajwa’s contributions: “For 50 years in politics, what have you done for Punjab? Congress has only added to the state’s problems, whether it was shielding drug lords or exploiting Punjab’s resources. Can you name even one achievement for the people of Punjab?”
In contrast, Sondh emphasized the AAP government’s commitment to tackling Punjab’s drug crisis under CM Bhagwant Mann. “We are uprooting the drug menace decisively. Our police act without bias or interference. Where were you and your party when drug traffickers flourished under Congress’ protection?”
The AAP Minister took a sharp dig at Partap Singh Bajwa, calling out his misleading remarks about the police, law and order and drug-related issues in Punjab. Sondh said, “Bajwa Sahib, if the so-called ‘Thar Wali Bibi’ was involved in wrongdoing, it was the same police who acted against her. This reflects the unwavering commitment of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to eradicate the drug menace from Punjab. Unlike your previous governments that shielded culprits, our government ensures unbiased action against all wrongdoers.”
Sondh further pointed out the hollow promises made by Captain Amarinder where he promised to end drugs in four weeks, “Where is your ‘Maharaja Sahib,’ who once claimed he would eliminate drugs in four weeks? While you once hailed him as your ‘Gurudev’, now where is he? Punjab suffered while you all enjoyed your positions of power,” Sondh said. He also reminded Partap Bajwa how during Congress rule, Punjab CMO was under a Pakistani, Aroosa Alam.
Punjab Has Rejected BJP, Congress, and Akali Dal
Sondh reiterated that Punjab’s people have moved past traditional parties. “Bajwa may worry about Akali Dal being ‘Khali,’ but the truth is that Punjab has rejected Akali Dal, BJP, and Congress alike. The state is now focused on progress, not outdated politics and rhetoric,” he said.
Sondh called on Bajwa to stop misleading Punjab’s people and focus on accountability. “Punjab deserves honest leadership and progress, not baseless statements and distractions. The AAP government is committed to delivering transparent governance and addressing the state’s challenges head-on,” he concluded.
