Kapurthala, June 13
Charuvrat Bains, a student from Kapurthala, has achieved a remarkable feat by earning the honour of representing India at the 18th International Earth Science Olympiad 2025 to be held in China.
After a rigorous selection process, only four students from across the country were chosen for this prestigious Olympiad. They will proudly carry India’s tricolour to Jining city, China, where the international event will take place from August 7 to 17.
Charuvrat Bains, a student of MGN School, is the son of Punjab Civil Services officer Lal Vishwas Bains and Assistant Professor at NIT Jalandhar Sheetal Soda.
Deputy Commissioner Amit Kumar Panchal on Friday honoured Charuvrat Bains with a certificate of appreciation, describing his achievement as a matter of pride not only for Kapurthala but for the entire state of Punjab. He stated that it is a moment of proud that a student from a small city like Kapurthala will represent the country on an international stage. He added that this accomplishment would inspire many other students.
It is noteworthy that Charuvrat Bains cleared the All India Entrance Test for the Indian National Earth Science Olympiad 2025 and underwent training at Savitribai Phule Pune University from May 9 to June 2. During this training, he was selected among the top four students from across the country to represent India.
Prior to the international event, Charuvrat Bains will participate in a training camp at Anna University, Chennai, from July 28 to August 5 to prepare for representing the country.
