Senior Punjab Congress leader and former state Health Minister Balbir Singh Sidhu has reacted sharply to the appointments of Delhi people to important public posts by the Punjab government, saying that this is a game changer for Punjab’s interests.

Sidhu has said in his press statement issued here today that Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has pawned Punjab to Aam Aadmi Party supremo Arvind Kejriwal to save his chair, who is doing his own will in every small and big matter. He said, “Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia and Satinder Jain, who were rejected by the people of Delhi and are embroiled in cases of scams worth crores, are now fitting their favourites in important departments of the state so that they can have a direct grip on every department to the very bottom.”

The Congress leader said, “People who neither have any understanding of Punjab nor any attachment to Punjab have been brought from Delhi and placed in the posts of chairmen. Their only aim is to fill the pockets of themselves and their political bosses.”

He said that all these people being brought from Delhi are the same ones who were somehow related to the scam ministers in Delhi during the Aam Aadmi Party government and now these idle people are being brought to Punjab so that their “experience” can be taken advantage of here too.

Sidhu said that the Punjab government has betrayed the interests of the state by appointing three lawyers from Delhi, Mohammad Irshad, Prashant Manchanda and R.V. Sinha, to all the three posts of Additional Advocate General in the state’s Advocate General’s office, leaving out lawyers from Punjab. He said that appointing non-Punjabis to important posts like Additional Advocate General is a serious crime because non-Punjabis should not be expected to fight for the interests of Punjab.

Sidhu has appealed to the pro-people organizations, institutions and intellectuals of Punjab to raise their voice in every possible way against the Punjab government’s mischief with the interests of the state. He said that the Chief Minister, ministers and MLAs of Punjab should be surrounded and asked whether there was no suitable candidate for these posts in Punjab?Appointments of Delhi Individuals to Key Posts Are a Game Changer Against Punjab’s Interests: Balbir Singh Sidhu

Senior Punjab Congress leader and former Health Minister Balbir Singh Sidhu has strongly criticized the Punjab government for appointing individuals from Delhi to important public posts in the state, calling it a serious blow to Punjab’s interests.

In a press statement issued today, Sidhu alleged that Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has effectively mortgaged Punjab to Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) supremo Arvind Kejriwal in a desperate attempt to hold on to power. “Kejriwal, along with Manish Sisodia and Satinder Jain — who have been rejected by the people of Delhi and are embroiled in multi-crore scam cases — is now placing his loyalists in crucial departments of Punjab to establish complete control over the state’s administrative machinery,” Sidhu said.

He further added, “People who have neither any understanding of Punjab nor any emotional or cultural attachment to the state are being appointed to top positions. Their sole motive is to serve their political bosses and enrich themselves.”

Sidhu expressed concern that individuals with past associations to the tainted AAP ministers in Delhi are now being brought into Punjab’s governance structure. “These non-functional and controversial figures are being rewarded with posts here under the guise of their so-called experience,” he remarked.

Citing a recent example, the Congress leader condemned the appointment of three lawyers from Delhi — Mohammad Irshad, Prashant Manchanda, and R.V. Sinha — as Additional Advocate Generals in the Punjab Advocate General’s office, bypassing capable lawyers from within the state. “Appointing non-Punjabis to such sensitive legal positions is a grave injustice. How can we expect outsiders to effectively safeguard Punjab’s legal and constitutional interests?” he questioned.

Sidhu called upon Punjab’s pro-people organizations, civil institutions, and intellectuals to vocally oppose what he termed the government’s betrayal of the state’s interests. “The Chief Minister, his ministers, and MLAs must be confronted and asked — was there no deserving legal talent in Punjab for these posts?”
