A tragic incident occurred near the banks of the Beas River in the Mand area of Sultanpur Lodhi, where bother and sister Ashu(25) and her brother Pappu(35) residents of Sultanpurlodhi drowned in the river Beas near village Ahali Kalan falling in Mand area.
Both had gone to the riverbank for daily wage work and were taking bath in the river when the incident occurred .
Police said the body of Pappu has been recovered by local authorities. However, a search operation led by divers is still underway to trace the Ashu, his sister. Deputy Commissioner Amit Kumar Panchal confirmed the incident .
