Rajya Sabha MP Sanjeev Arora addressed a poll meeting in Dyal Nagar on Saturday late evening, presenting his three-year report card. He is in the fray for the upcoming Ludhiana (West) assembly by-election. The seat fell vacant after the sudden demise of sitting AAP MLA Gurpreet Singh Gogi.

Remembering Gogi, Arora referred to him as a “brother” and recalled how Gogi frequently approached him for assistance with development projects in his constituency. He shared that, on Gogi’s recommendation, he allocated a significant portion of his MPLAD funds for the renovation and upgradation of government schools.

Arora also referred to Gogi’s wife, Dr. Sukhchain Kaur Bassi, recently appointed as Chairperson of the Punjab Energy Development Agency (PEDA), as his “sister.” He expressed confidence that she would fulfill her new responsibilities in line with the party’s vision.

Dr. Sukhchain Kaur Bassi asked full support for Arora and urged the public to vote for him, lauding his contributions as an MP to Ludhiana’s development.

MLA Daljit Singh Grewal (Bhola) also praised Arora for his dedication to various development projects, many of which are already complete or nearing completion. He emphasised the importance of each vote and urged citizens to turn out in large numbers to support Arora, whom he described as committed to Ludhiana’s growth and prosperity.

On the occasion, Samay Singh Birla, President of Ambedkar Lok Manch Ludhiana, demanded property rights for people residing in areas near Ghumar Mandi, Labour Colony (Jawahar Nagar Camp), Z-Block (Maharishi Valmiki Nagar), SBS Nagar (E-Block), and Pavittar Nagar (Haibowal). Arora assured the gathering that he would look into the matter.
