The Punjab government has officially declared Friday, April 18 as a public holiday across the state on account of Good Friday, a significant religious observance in the Christian faith.
As per the government notification, all schools, colleges, government offices, and banks will remain closed for the day.
With the holiday falling on a Friday, followed by the weekend on April 19 (Saturday) and April 20 (Sunday), the state is set for a three-day long weekend. People are being advised to complete any pending work with government departments by today, as offices will now reopen only on Monday, April 21.
