Ludhiana, April 17
It wasn’t just another political rally in F-Block, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar (Ward No. 56) on Wednesday evening. Amid speeches and campaign fervour, an unexpected and deeply moving moment unfolded during the event of Rajya Sabha MP Sanjeev Arora—one that left many in the audience teary-eyed and applauding.
Just as Arora was about to address the crowd, an elderly woman from the audience slowly walked up toward the stage. With quiet strength in her voice, she spoke to the gathering:
“This life is a precious gift from the Almighty. What defines us is what we do with it. Sanjeev Arora has earned his place in people’s hearts through his tireless work for Ludhiana.”
She praised him for helping everyone, including resolving a long-pending issue for local restaurant owners. Her request came with emotion and decades of waiting—she asked Arora to bring her area under the jurisdiction of the Municipal Corporation, a demand that had remained unresolved for years.
Arora, visibly moved, promised to fulfill the request. “Your wait will be over soon,” he said, his voice thick with emotion.
At that point, Municipal Councillor Tanvir Singh Dhaliwal stepped in to introduce the woman—Dr. Kamaljit Kaur Bal. He shared her remarkable story and highlighted the work of her husband, Dr. J.S. Bal, who had quietly contributed to preserving history by rejuvenating and nurturing sacred ber trees at revered religious sites, including the Golden Temple in Amritsar. These ancient trees, once declining, were given new life through his care and expertise.
Touched by the story, Arora warmly embraced Dr. Bal as a gesture of deep respect. The moment was heartfelt and sincere—his wife, Sandhya Arora, was seen watching emotionally as the audience responded with loud and heartfelt applause.
Dr. Bal was then honored, not just for her own spirit, but also for the remarkable work done by her husband.
In an evening meant for campaign promises and political messages, it was this human connection—genuine, unexpected, and full of heart—that everyone would remember.
