Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Baltej Pannu launched a scathing attack on SAD leader Bikram Singh Majithia, accusing him of hypocrisy and attempting to mislead Punjabis with his latest press conference. Pannu labeled Majithia as one of the primary architects of Punjab’s gangland era, during which the state witnessed rampant lawlessness, corruption, and exploitation.
Baltej Pannu stated, “Majithia’s dramatic accusations today are akin to a wolf preaching peace. The man who transformed Punjab into a gangland between 2007 and 2017 now pretends to care about the state’s safety and well-being. If anyone deserves the blame for Punjab’s struggles with lawlessness, it is Majithia and his party’s oppressive and exploitative regime.”
Pannu highlighted several instances from SAD’s tenure that exposed the leader’s deep involvement in fostering Punjab’s gang culture. Pannu revealed that during Akali Dal’s regime, Punjab became synonymous with gangland violence. “It was under their government’s watch that gangsters operated with impunity. The infamous Nabha Jailbreak and the assassination of a police officer protecting his daughter are just two examples of how deeply entrenched gangs had become in Punjab under Majithia’s patronage,” Pannu said.
Pannu further accused Badals and Majithia of monopolizing Punjab’s cable and sand businesses. “These people crushed small-scale businesses and seized control of these industries through threats, false cases, and brute force. The illegal sand mining empire flourished under their nose, robbing Punjab of its resources,” he alleged.
The AAP leader alleged, “Majithia’s liquor business was one of the largest in Punjab during the SAD-BJP regime, profiting immensely while the state’s economy suffered,” Pannu said. Pannu reminded the public of the unfortunate Bargari sacrilege and Behbal Kalan firing incidents. “Majithia’s government attacked protesters seeking justice for Guru Granth Sahib Ji’s desecration by using tear gas, water cannons, and even bullets. Two Innocent Sikhs were killed during these protests, and Akali regime left Punjab’s soul scarred,” Pannu emphasized.
Pannu added that Majithia own time in power was marked by an oppressive atmosphere where dissent was crushed, and false cases were registered against innocent people. “Majithia’s handpicked henchmen, operating as constituency in-charges, ran Punjab like a dictatorship. They terrorized residents and exploited every sector they could,” he added.
Pannu dismissed Majithia’s current outrage as a reflection of his frustration over losing control of Punjab. “Majithia’s real pain lies in the dismantling of his gangland empire. With law and order being restored under the AAP government, Majithia is panicking because the dirty empire he built is crumbling,” Pannu said.
Taking a jibe at Majithia’s press conference, Pannu remarked, “Today, the man who nurtured Punjab’s gangland culture pretends to be its savior. The same Majithia who once shielded gangsters and drug smugglers is now trying to lecture Punjabis on law and order.”
Baltej Pannu concluded by reiterating the AAP government’s resolve to restore peace and prosperity in Punjab. “The era of fear, exploitation, and gangsterism that Majithia orchestrated is over. AAP is committed to bringing justice to Punjab and holding people like Majithia accountable for their crimes against the state. Punjabis deserve peace, not Majithia’s theatrics,” Pannu declared.
The AAP leader urged Majithia to stop misleading the public and reflect on his party’s destructive legacy. “Punjab will never forget or forgive the atrocities committed during their tenure. It’s time for him to face the consequences of his actions,” Pannu concluded.
