Ludhiana, April 13
The Association of Punjab Technical Textiles hosted a thanksgiving function for Rajya Sabha MP Sanjeev Arora on Friday evening in Ludhiana.
Speaking at the event, Arora highlighted a series of development initiatives he has undertaken over the past three years. He assured attendees that these efforts would continue, emphasising his commitment to the progress of Ludhiana. Now that the party leadership has nominated him to contest the upcoming election from the Ludhiana (West) assembly seat, Arora said he looks forward to receiving the public’s support.
Addressing the gathering, the Association’s President, Pawanpreet Singh, spoke about a long-pending issue concerning the Punjab Pollution Control Board (PPCB), dating back to 2016. He noted that the Association had met with Arora approximately fifteen days ago and submitted a memorandum regarding their concerns. Singh expressed deep gratitude to Arora for taking swift action and pursuing the matter with the state government. As a result, the PPCB issued a notification acceding to their demands, offering significant relief to the industry.
Pawanpreet Singh further stated that it is now their turn to support Arora in the upcoming assembly elections. He appealed to all members of the Association to actively campaign and vote for Arora, emphasising that his victory would be a major boost for the industry. Singh praised Arora’s contributions, stating that the level of development achieved under his leadership has not been seen in the past fifty years.
Among others, municipal councillor Kapil Kumar Sonu also spoke on the occasion.
