ASI commits suicide with assault

Police Assistant Sub Inspector Narinderjit Singh today committed suicide by shooting himself after taking assault rifle from his colleague near SSP office in the Distrct Administrative complex .

Superintendent of police ( Investigation) Sarabjit Rai when contacted by PTI confirmed the incident of suicide by ASI .

Police said deceased went to strong room Of EVM machines and took the assault rifle from his colleague and committed suicide by shooting himself .

The deceased was posted in police lines .

Police has begun investigation to ascertain the reasons behind suicide .
