Chandigarh, March 12
Counting of votes for Municipal Corporation elections in Haryana is underway and BJP is leading on 9 Municipal Corporations out of total 10. On one seat Independent is ahead of BJP. Congress has failed to open its account.
Rohtak Mayor election: BJP is strong position. After counting of votes for four rounds, out of total 12572 votes, BJP’s Ram Avtar got 8250 votes, Congress’s Surajmal got 3391 votes.
Karnal: BJP’s Mayor candidate Renu Bala Gupta has got 13500 votes after 8 rounds of counting.
Ambala: BJP is leading here and its candidate Sandeep Attri has won from ward no 7. Party’s Mayor candidate Shelja Sachdeva is leading by 15062 votes after 10th round of counting.
Panipat: BJP candidate Komal Saini is leading with 26091 votes. Congress candidate Savita Garg has got 5040 votes. Here an independent got 1300 votes.
Yamuna Nagar and Panipat: In ward no 4 of Yamuna Nagar, Congress and Independent candidates have alleged rigging by the BJP.
In Panipat BJP candidate Anita Paruthi has won from ward no 1. She got 4743 votes whereas Congress candidate Surabhi Sharma got 1543 votes.
