In a commendable initiative towards cancer prevention and early detection, the Inner Wheel Club of Chandigarh Aashiana organized a Cancer Awareness Talk and Cancer Screening Camp at Shree Sanatan Dharam Mandir, Sector 15-B, Chandigarh. The event aimed to educate and provide free cancer screening to the community, focusing on oral, breast, and cervical cancer.
The camp was conducted by Dr.Shikha Jain and her expert team from Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital & Research Centre, TMC, New Chandigarh. Women and community members participated enthusiastically, gaining insights into cancer prevention, symptoms, and the importance of early detection.
The screening procedures included:
✅ Oral Cancer Screening – By oral visual examination
✅ Breast Cancer Screening – Through clinical breast examination
✅ Cervical Cancer Screening – Using per speculum examination and VIA test
The event witnessed the active participation of healthcare professionals, volunteers, and social activists who worked together to spread awareness and provide medical support. Attendees were also honored with certificates for their participation and efforts in promoting cancer awareness.
With the motto “Cancer is Curable, If Detected Early”, this initiative served as a vital step toward empowering individuals with the knowledge and medical support needed to combat cancer effectively.
