Ludhiana, February 11

To support students preparing for the upcoming CBSE, PSEB, and ICSE board exams, the district administration has launched a 24-hour mental health helpline called ‘ASMAAH’ (9646470777).

Deputy Commissioner Jitendra Jorwal stated that this initiative is jointly started by the District Red Cross Society and the District Bureau of Employment and Enterprises, aims to assist students in managing exam-related stress and create effective study plans. The students can seek counselling by calling the helpline at 9646470777 anytime round the clock.

Jorwal emphasized that ‘ASMAAH’ offers free and confidential counselling, expert guidance on managing exam stress, emotional support for anxiety and pressure, as well as practical tips to stay focused and motivated.

Jorwal noted that today students are under significant pressure to perform well and achieve high marks. Therefore, it is important for parents, teachers, and the community to convey to students that exams are not the end of the world and there is no need to fear them. He added that the best approach to handle examinations is to stay calm and tackle each paper one at a time without worrying about the results. He expressed that the goal of the ‘ASMAAH’ helpline is to help guide students in overcoming their fear of exams, providing them with trained listeners who can support them through tough times of stress and anxiety.

Prominent amongst those present on the occasion included CM Field Officer Kritika Goyal, Employment Generation, Skill Development & Training Officer Jeevandeep Singh, DDF Ambar Bandopadhyay, and others.
