Amritsar, February 4
Former chairman of Improvement Trust and senior Congress leader Dinesh Bassi has demanded resignation from Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to improve the deteriorating law and order situation in Punjab. He said that this is the 11th blast in Punjab and the government is in deep sleep.
Congress leader Dinesh Bassi said that Punjab is currently facing a deep crisis. Blasts are taking place in police stations every week and the Chief Minister of Punjab is busy in elections in Delhi.
Punjab needs a mature leader at this time who can handle this situation well. The Aam Aadmi Party government won in Punjab by giving the slogan of change but hardly anyone would have thought of such a change. The influx of drugs is increasing, businessmen are being harassed for ransom and now the police deployed to protect the people is not able to protect itself. All these changes have happened after the formation of the Aam Aadmi Party government, so on moral grounds and to keep Punjab safe, CM Bhagwant Mann should leave his post. He said that being a border area in Punjab, especially Amritsar, there should be more security but at this time it seems that the CM is unable to handle the situation. Dinesh Bassi said that blasts are happening continuously in Punjab and the police is not accepting it, which clearly shows that the police is working at the behest of the government and is unable to protect itself. The police which is unable to protect itself despite being alert, how will it protect the public. That is why the Aam Aadmi Party government should leave Punjab for the better future of Punjab and to free the hands of the police so that people can live peacefully like before.
