Rupnagar: ADC(G) initiates a menstrual health and hygiene awareness program to distribute sanitary napkins to adolescent girls

Rupnagar, January 18

ADC(G) Pooja Sial Grewal on Friday initiated a menstrual health and hygiene awareness program of Rotary Club Rupnagar at Khalsa Sen. Sec. School.

Giving further details, she said that under this program Rotary Club Rupnagar will distribute 25,000 sanitary napkins to adolescent girls (8th to 12th class students) of local schools and those living in slum areas.

On this occasion, she sensitised the girls about importance of hygiene and health during menstruation and encouraged the students to talk openly with their parents and teachers and dispose of sanitary napkins properly.

Dr. Bhim Sen from Rotary Club said that 25,000 sanitary napkins will be distributed in schools. Club aims to cover more schools in future and make a positive impact in the society.

Giving information about the details of the distribution, he said that 8,000 sanitary napkins will be distributed in schools of Nangal, 5,000 sanitary napkins in schools of Sri Anandpur Sahib School, 12,000 sanitary napkins will be distributed in schools of Rupnagar and surrounding areas.

On this occasion, Dr. Aarti Agarwal shared information about the health care of adolescent girls, highlighting the importance of this important aspect in the lives of girls.

Director of Rotary Youth Services R.T.N. Gagandeep conducted the stage proceedings in a very smooth manner, President Kulwant Singh thanked all the guests for their presence and contribution.

President RTN Sudhir Sharma, Club Secretary Arina Channa, teachers of Khalsa School and GMN School, prominent personalities, Rotarians and students of various schools were present on the occasion.
