The Haryana Government has ordered a ban on posting or transfer of officers/officials involved in the preparation of electoral rolls of Municipal Corporations/Councils of Karnal, Yamunanagar and Sohna (Gurugram).
In an order issued by the Chief Secretary’s Office to all Administrative Secretaries, Heads of Departments and MDs/CAs of Boards/Corporations in Haryana, it is stated that the draft electoral rolls were published on January 7, 2025 and the claims and objections shall be received by the revising authority concerned by January 13, 2025.
The final publication of electoral rolls shall be done on January 28, 2025.
The order states that the officers/officials involved in the preparation of electoral rolls of these municipal corporations/councils may not be transferred till the final publication of electoral rolls.
However, in cases where it is considered absolutely necessary to transfer any officers/officials connected with the above duties, prior written approval of the State Election Commission must be obtained.
