YAD President Sarabjeet Jhinjer flags conspiracy of repeated anti-Sikh directives

Chandigarh, November 9

Youth Akali Dal President Sarabjeet Singh Jhinjer today strongly condemned the recent directives targeting Sikh practices and flagged a larger conspiracy behind them.

“In recent days, there have been concerted efforts to undermine Sikhs and our beliefs. First, the Bharatiya Janata Party-led Aviation Ministry ordered Sikh employees not to wear Kirpans at airports, even though the Kirpan is very sacred to us and is one of the 5 Kakaars given to us by Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji. Now, the Punjab and Haryana High Court has directed Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh to force Sikh women to wear helmets while riding two-wheelers, violating the Sikh Rehat Maryada.”

He further pointed out, “The people of Punjab should question the timing of these decisions! There is a big conspiracy against us. On one hand, attempts are being made to dismantle Shiromani Akali Dal, Punjab’s sole regional party and the representative voice of Sikhs. On the other hand, these authoritarian decisions are being imposed. This highlights the need for unity and strengthening Shiromani Akali Dal, as no other party or institution can and will fight for Sikh rights.”

“For the sake of our faith and community, we must come together,” Jhinjer emphasized. “No other party or institution can advocate for Sikh rights like Shiromani Akali Dal. We will not tolerate any attempts to erode our religious freedom and cultural identity.”

We will strongly oppose both these decisions and will ensure that they are revoked at the earliest, Jhinjer concluded.
