Chandigarh, October 30
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab General Secretary and Mandi Board Chairman Harchand Singh Barsat sharply criticized the central government for the issues faced by farmers, commission agents, and mill owners in Punjab due to slow grain lifting.
Barsat stated that the central government is continuously harassing Punjab’s farmers and commission agents. The center is not listening to the demands of sheller owners and is refusing to lift millions of tons of grain that are piled up in Punjab’s mandis. This is adversely affecting farmers, commission agents, and mill owners alike.
He added that the central government’s policies are vindictive, intentionally causing grain-lifting delays and creating difficulties for farmers and commission agents. He accused the BJP of taking revenge on Punjab’s farmers for the farmers’ movement, which is extremely condemnable.
Barsat announced that Aam Aadmi Party will protest against the central government’s anti-Punjab policies on Wednesday (October 30) in front of the Punjab BJP office (Chandigarh, Sector 37).
He urged the people of Punjab to participate in large numbers and gather at Batra Theater in Sector 37 at 11:00 AM. He mentioned that everyone would march towards the BJP office to send a strong message to the central government through this protest.
