Farmers block NH at four places in Kapurthala

The agitating farmers today blocked vehicular traffic on Jalandhar- Amritsar national Highway at Hamira , Dhilwan Toll plaza, Kapurthala- Goindwal road near village Mundi Maur and Kapurthala-Sultanpurlodhi road near New grain market in protest against distress purchase of paddy in Punjab.

The agitating farmers blocked the vehicular traffic at four places by staging dharna in the middle of road and criticised the government on the distress purchase of paddy in the Mandis , inordinate delay in lifting of paddy from grain markets. They alleged that farmers were being fleeced by the private traders on purchase of paddy below MSP rates.

Punjab Kissan Union (Baghi) State General Secretary Gurdeep Singh claimed that dharna was continuing at four NH in the Kapurthala.He alleged that centre government was targeting the farmers for their year long agitation against three agriculture laws.
