Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is scheduled to meet the Union Minister for Food, Public Distribution, and Consumer Affairs Prahlad Joshi on October 14 regarding the problems related to paddy procurement.
The Chief Minister will raise the issues of Rice Millers and Ahartiyas of Punjab with the Union Minister.
CM Mann chaired a high-level meeting to review the progress of paddy procurement on Saturday. So far 4.30 lakh metric tonnes of paddy has reached the markets, and 98 percent of the crop has been purchased.
The department released Rs 573.55 crore for crop payment to farmers.
