Chandigarh, September 12
The Municipal Corporation Chandigarh issued 21 challans to those selling chicken and meat in unhygienic condition in EWS colony Dhanas and Maloya colony.
Following the directions of MC Commissioner Vinay Pratap Singh, the meat hygiene wing, MOH, and the enforcement wing of the MC conducted a joint drive. During the drive, about 40 kg of meat and chicken unfit for human consumption was seized and destroyed.
The meat-cutting equipment and cages were also removed. The Commissioner directed the team to conduct similar drives across the city and take action against the violators. He stated that legal action would be initiated against permanent offenders.
