Almost a week after Sunny, a 24-year-old cable company employee’s hand was chopped off by snatchers, a similar episode has happened with an auto rickshaw driver near the Ram Nagar railway crossing on Thursday night.
As per reports, the victim is identified as Dinesh Kumar who was attacked by bike-borne men after he resisted giving them his mobile phone and cash. Frustrated, the accused attacked the auto driver and his hand got injured with a deep cut.
No FIR was lodged until Friday morning.
ACP (North) Sheetal Singh said that the police received information about the incident late night. “We will record Dinesh’s statement. CCTVs are being checked to find out the accused,” he told.
Notably, in the incident that happened last week, Sunny’s right hand had to be amputated by doctors as the attackers had slit his wrist with a sharp-edged weapon to snatch his mobile phone that he was holding tight.
