Jathedar Gurpartap Singh Wadala, rebel leader and Shiromani Akali Dal reform movement convener, has demanded the resignation of Sukhbir Singh Badal’s resignation from the post of party’s president.
This comes following the order of Sri Akal Takht on Friday when SAD Chief Sukhbir Singh Badal was declared “tankhaiya,” or guilty of religious misconduct, and asked to appear before Sri Akal Takht within 15 days.
“Sukhbir Singh Badal is a criminal in the path’s court. A person who is called a tankhaiya, has a very low place in the Panth. Due to the decisions of Sukhbir Singh Badal, the Panth and the nation have suffered a big collapse, the only result is that today the Shiromani Akali Dal has gone to the margins,” said Jathedar Gurpartap Singh Wadala.
“After today’s decision, Sukhbir Singh Badal should have submitted his resignation immediately and presented proof of being a humble Sikh, but it is a pity that despite these positions, he is not ready to give up his desire, because of his political stubbornness. Already a lot of damage has been done,” he added.
“Its rare in the history of Akal Dal that a president of an Akali Dal has been declared a tankhaiya,” he expressed.
Jathedar Wadala expressed his satisfaction that his efforts are proving successful in giving a new direction to the Panth.
