Match No. 5 and Match No. 6 of the tournament were played on the second day of the Employees Cricket League Season-1 (T20) organized by Punjab Secretariat Cricket Club, Chandigarh in association with Preetika Group of Industries and Mohali Auto Industries. Match No. 5 was played between PSCC vs Food and Civil Supplies Department, Punjab at Bajwa Cricket Ground, Mohali.
In this nail biting contest, Food and Civil Supplies Department, Punjab team batted first and set a target of 140 runs to the PSCC team. In response the Punjab Secretariat Cricket Club team fell short of 1 run. Vivek of Food Supply Team was judged man of the match for his brilliant knock of 84 runs by the food supply team whereas Bhupinder Singh of PSCC was elected best bowler for his wonderful spell.
On the other hand, Match number 6 was played between the teams of Fatehgarh Sahib Fighters vs Government Medical College Patiala. The Fatehgarh Sahib team batted first and after playing the prescribed 20 overs, the target of 146 runs was given to the Patiala team. In response to which the medical college team could score only 118/8 runs in 20 overs. The Fatehgarh Sahib team has almost secured their place for the quarter finals by winning their 02 consecutive match. Guncha of Fatehgarh Sahib team won the man of the match award for taking 04 crucial wickets.
Patron of Secretariat Club Janak Singh and Satish Chander, President, PSCC were present on this occasion. Apart from this, Punjab Civil Secretariat Staff Association President Shusheel Kumar Fauzi was also present in the ground.
