Employee Cricket League Season-1 (T20) organised by Punjab Secretariat Cricket Club starts

Chandigarh, April 7

The Employee Cricket League Season-1 (T20) being organized by Punjab Secretariat Cricket Club, Chandigarh in collaboration with Preetika Group of Industries and Mohali Auto Industries started with a ribbon cutting ceremony today on 6th April. The main objective of this event is to keep the employees mentally and physically healthy. Currently, a total no. of 12 teams are participating in this tournament, which have been divided into 04 pools. The opening league match of season-1 was between Punjab Secretariat Cricket Club vs Food and Civil Supplies Department, Punjab teams played at Launching Pad Cricket Ground, Sector-97, Mohali. The Punjab Secretariat Cricket Club was given a target of 128 runs after playing the stipulated 20 overs by the Food and Civil Supplies Department, Punjab team. Which the Punjab Secretariat Cricket Club achieved comfortably in 18th over with the loss of 05 wickets. Akashdeep was selected as Man of the Match for is All-round performance.

In the second match, the Chandigarh Police team batted first and scored 175 runs in 20 overs, in response, Government Medical College Sector-32 team was restricted to 151 runs and Balwinder Sr. was judged man of the match.

Third match was played between the teams of Haryana Civil Secretariat vs Commissioner XI, Chandigarh. In this match Commissioner XI won the toss and elected to bat first but they only were able to score 122/9 in 20 overs, which was easily chased by the Haryana Civil Secretariat team in 17.5 overs. From Haryana Secretariat, Sahil was the Man of the Match for his all-round performance.

The fourth league match was played between the teams of Fatehgarh Sahib Fighters vs Government Medical College Patiala. The Fatehgarh Sahib Fighter team was asked to bat first by GOMCO.. FGS scored 177/5 in 20 overs, In reply, the Government Medical College, Patiala team managed to score only 114 runs in 15.1 overs. Fatehgarh Sahib Fighters team player Ankit was elected as Man of the Match for his wonderful knock.

This league has been co-sponsored by Aryans Group of Colleges, The Doctors Consultancy, Heallthmaxx Superspeciality Hospital Mohali and Radisson Biotech. PSCC management team members Janak Singh (Patron), Satish Chander (President) and other senior members namely Neeraj kumar, Gurpreet Singh Garcha and Harbhajan Singh were present at the ground.
