On International Women’s Day, the Saree Run was organized by The Run Club at Chandigarh Club, Sector-1. Women from every section participated enthusiastically in this competition. Some were doctors, some were retired professors, some were fashion designers, some were businesswomen, housemakers to school girls, and everyone participated enthusiastically in this competition.

Women also showed how conscious they were about their work and health. More than 300 women participated in this race. Girls and elders also participated with them.
Organizer Pavila Bali said that the elders joined hands with the youth and the center of attraction was the elderly women and small girls. Elderly women participated in the run keeping pace with the youth.
She said that her aim in participating in the run was to make everyone apart from other elderly women aware of their health. Being elderly does not mean that you have become helpless. If you keep yourself fit, you will not depend on anyone. If the woman of the house remains fit then the entire family will be fit.
