Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Cheema while presenting the budget said steps are being taken for increasing the air connectivity between Punjab and European countries.
While sharing the reforms made by the government in Aviation sector, Harpal Cheema said that a new air terminal at Adampur with a cost of around ₹150 crore, replacing the previous porta cabin capacity of 75 passengers to a 150 passenger capacity has been completed.
“Additionally, ₹15 crore was disbursed by the State Government for construction of a road at the airport. Works related to Shaheed Kartar Singh Sarabha Airport at Halwara are completed and the commencement of flights from both of these airports are expected to start soon paving avenues for development,” he said.
“With concerted efforts of our Government, two flights to Kuala Lumpur and one to Milan have been started from Amritsar and flights from Bathinda have also resumed,” he added.
